Eva Karaitidi was born in Athens. She studied classical philology at the University of Athens, linguistics and semiotics in France (University Paris III). Her doctoral thesis, which was argued in Paris in 1987, explores the poetic art in ancient Greece before Aristotle.
Fifth generation of Hestia, the oldest Greek publishing house (1885), she is been working there since 1987, while she has acquired the General Management of the House since 1998.
Moreover, she has been trained in the Satyananda Yoga system and since 2010 she teaches at Athens Satyananda Yoga Centre.
She has published two short stories collections and has translated five French literature books.
In 2011, France awarded her the distinction of Knight of the Order of Academic Palms.
